I think of it as one more layer. It isn’t preventative but it helps decrease risk just a hair. If someone has a temperature they may be more likely to be closer to coughing and so more likely to infect. We are sadly in a place where we need to weave together dozens of strategies

Right! Covid-19 101: You can absolutely carry the virus — and get other people sick — even if your temperature is 98.6 and you feel healthy. How (or why) are they forgetting the basics in these reopening plans?

But checking temp can screen out SOME people, those who are symptomatic. It's better than nothing.
