If you were shrunk or enlarged interacting with water would be pretty complicated because its surface tension would affect you differently, but fiction in which people are shrunk usually does not engage with this and this is a problem. This is an opinion I have

The one thing I've seen engage with that was, of all things, the ancient Lando Calrissian novels, where shrinking/unshrinking was represented as alien hypertech just approximating your body by constructing something biomechanically equivalent but larger. No density change.

Yeah, that would work. Or in Farscape where the characters poke holes in all the ways it shouldn't work and then shrug because plot...
