It's time again for me to ask your recommendations for 2D animation software. I want something that does sprite and skeletal animation. Spine is at the top of my list but it's $2200 for me now which would make it the most expensive software I've ever purchased.
So it seems I've settled on Spine anyway...main thing for me is how it lets you share a single skeleton. I could still change my mind, though

Late to the party, but I agree that Spine is a great choice despite the price. I’ve used a few different 2D animation tools and it seems to be best all around. Spriter is decent too for what you’re looking for, but it largely relies on iffy 3rd party plugins for exporting
