It's so pronounced that I now wonder and worry how many people there are who just *have no idea* how far they've drifted from baseline but are afraid of the stigma of meds.

Absolutely I think zoloft allowed me to focus enough to sit down for five years, make Axiom Verge, and become successful. You can't do that kind of work when you have a constant emotional onslaught brought on by your own crazy mind. And believe me, I'd tried that for years.

There is also I think some fault in the language we use ... "anxiety" and "depression" don't really convey what it's like to open your eyes in the morning and already feel like something terrible happened, before you can even think. It isn't always just having a bad attitude.

Tinkered with meds on and off for years and have yet to find one that works without ridiculous side effects. My depression and anxiety render me completely useless. It's frustrating.

I really think it's a matter of finding the right one or side effects you can deal with... paxil, welbutrin, some other meds I forget didn't work on me.

Such truth. I stopped fluoxetine twice with similar (horrible) results before my doctor was like, "Dude. Just stay on it."
