I think that righteous indignation effect where people react to someone doing something shitty by ganging up on social media, getting them fired, etc. is dangerous. Sometimes you put away a bad person but other times you are acting emotionally before getting the whole picture

I think it's a good idea, whenever you have that feeling like, "I'm going to expose this jerk and it will be so awesome to watch them get taken down!" you need to take a step back and see if there isn't a more measured response

The frustrating thing about social media "power" is how it is so easy to use it to whip up a mob to hurt someone and so hard to use it to achieve anything productive at all
