Wow....so does it make use of graphics card acceleration or is it basically its own external card?

As I understand it, the laptop’s video card does the work. My laptop can do 4k displays. The crazy part is that you also get INCOMING power as well. Literally one plug used on my SB that the last person used on their Mac - worked identically.

I recently got 2x 4K monitors with USB-C. My 15'' MBP 2016 runs them both at 4K@60hz using the graphics card AND they keep it charged!
