haven't played either 
So far I kinda feel like RE7 does a lot of what Alien: Isolation did, and almost as well. It's maybe a matter of what setting you prefer.

RE7 starts out a bit Alien: Isolation'y, but it gets more and more Resident Evil the further you get. Systemically a bit simple.
