Can anyone think of unusual/obsolete/fictional display tech besides crt, lcd? Thinking of vector displays, lasers, other quirky things.

The display on this is a CRT, but I love how tiny and crisp it is http://oldcomputers.net/osborne-1.html

And of course there's things like nixie tubes, which I guess aren't technically displays, but do display (limited) information..

There was once a hologram machine game at Disney World I think. It was silver-ish like one of those X-men hologram cards

Those would ultimately be LCD or LED still. Pretty sure stuff like an oscilloscope falls under CRT.

what about, like, the sort of tech that the Virtual Boy used? And those spinning toy-things that light up to show messages?
