Male ants have wings!
Found this huge bug trying to get into the bee trap. Looked like a 2" long ant with wings. For reference the holes at right are bee-sized.pic.twitter.com/D9byDS191R

Looks like a tarantula hawk wasp. Like bees, they eat nectar, so that might be why it was attracted to a bee trap.

Thats a tarantula hawk! the orange wings are a dead giveaway. apparently none lethal, but incredibly painful sting.
