so it's a Steam thing. Okay. I'll have to see if I can tweak some Steam settings, then.
I believe they recently added ds4 support so maybe it conflicts with the native support

that would explain a lot of the bizarre issues I've been having with other games with native gamepad support. Perhaps that's it.
