It bothers me in the latest Tomb Raider games that Fast Travel lets you circumvent cave-ins, etc that happen in the story.

Or just never have a reason in the story to revisit those areas. That works
There are all these secrets to go back and get...so it makes more sense just to give her a route back

there is that, but if you're never required to go back to complete the game you can kinda ignore it
