The feel of combat is something I'm still very curious about with the new Zelda. 2D was positioning, 3D was timing, now stats?
Late night thoughts: The Z lock in Zelda felt antiquated compared to the rest of the game, actually making it harder rather than simpler.

Do you mean it's unnecessary, or that it should be replaced with something else?

Just unnecessary. Batman / Mad Max and similar games are more accessible bc they intelligently adjust orientation to combatants
