In retrospect I think I preferred Days Gone over The Last of Us Part 2. I'd like to see a sequel.

I can’t comment on TLOU2 as I haven’t played it yet. I did not care for TLOU1 at all. To me, the gameplay felt like just filler to get you from one plot point to the next. In fact modern game design in general feels backward to me, ie story>gameplay.
That I think is why it fails... you have to be invested in the story. Whereas I feel like Days Gone's story was just okay (although a lot less depressing) but you could still enjoy exploring the world, fighting hordes, upgrading the bike, etc

Yeah, I do not play games 4 story personally. I prefer games that are first are foremost video games & the story to be the world & atmosphere. Look at the original metroid as an example. Great games don’t have to have a story to engross the player. Games are not movies or books.
