Last of us Part 2 is a brilliant, important game that is stupidly bloated. Days gone is nowhere near as good. It's enjoyable, but it's like a Ubisoft clone.

Open world vs linear right? But yeah , I felt like LoU2’s ending was pretty outstanding, while days gone could use another chapter.

I loved that game! Deacon annoyed me, but I still felt he was pretty believable. And it versus Last of Us, I loved the feeling of hope, of people banding together to survive. Also the hordes were amazing, and I loved riding everywhere.

I can’t comment on TLOU2 as I haven’t played it yet. I did not care for TLOU1 at all. To me, the gameplay felt like just filler to get you from one plot point to the next. In fact modern game design in general feels backward to me, ie story>gameplay.

That I think is why it fails... you have to be invested in the story. Whereas I feel like Days Gone's story was just okay (although a lot less depressing) but you could still enjoy exploring the world, fighting hordes, upgrading the bike, etc

It's exactly how I feel about both Part 1 and 2. Days Gone had so much more charm.
