It’s a lie that works. Placebos are effective treatments in about 30% of cases for many meds, it varies by illness. The “female viagra” medicine has one of the highest placebo effects ever recorded, for example.
Isn't a placebo basically a lie? I feel like many of the world's governments already rely on the placebo effect... I suspect I'm not fully making the connection...

The placebo effect is actually a key component of our medication. A lot of medication that is currently sold, and improves people's lives, does not have enough effect without placebo to be measurable.
