I thougnt Assange was like a sexual predator of some kind? Is Snowden also?

Assange is being prosecuted by the US, not Sweden, and not for rape. He is not eligible to be charged for his sex crimes because while he was hiding in the embassy those crimes timed out on the relevant Swedish statute of limitations.

When Assange initially went into hiding it was to escape an ongoing extradition proceeding for his sex crimes in Sweden, but he *claimed* the reason he was in hiding was he feared Sweden, after getting hold of him for the rape charges, would turn him over to the US.
