Yes. This one has much more in the way of monsters and mythological stuff. You straight-up become a superhero after a point. Fall damage just stops being a thing at level 20, IIRC.
So far Assassin's Creed Oddyssey is like they stripped out the Egyptians and Romans out of Origins and stretched the remaining assets across a new map. I'm level 10. Does it ever get more variety?

That's not really true. There are only 4 missions that do that and if you only follow the "main" plot you wont even see that. I'm lv 48 and the game is very same-y.

Oh yeah I adored the assassination mechanics/system once they're revealed later on. I should go back to that game, but I just keep starting fresh files over and over again

Not really. There's some late game content that's pretty different, and the second expansion has a lot (plus some bonus overpowered abilities) but if you're bored now, it's not gonna get much better.

To me the game asks too much of you. I have work a regular full time job and I've been playing the game since last March and couldn't tell you what the story line is. I decided recently to just treat it as a cool virtual sightseeing experience and put it down.
