QB is much more natural/traditional without monster closets.

QB is incredible, btw. My favorite Remedy game.

Max Payne doesn’t have enemies appear out of nowhere,(first two at least). Some wait until they see you to react, others patrol. Quantum Break is quite a bit more dynamic with patrol routes and seeking you out.

In Alan Wake there’s at least a good story reason to explain the instantly appearing enemies. (I’m guessing for Control too, haven’t played it yet though)

I couldn’t get into Control, I can’t stand it when a game has very samey enemies. I prefer something like half life.

Not a lot of spawning enemies in MP 1&2 as players were encouraged to come up with an offensive strategy based on their positions. Control seems to go the other way with first teaching combat patterns, then confronting players with emerging situations. Both good choices imho.
