When it comes to pushing yourself, how far is too far? There’s a part of me that feels like if I push myself any more I’ll go insane, but if I relax and take my time I won’t hit my 07.07 deadline. Does the release date really matter if I’m a month or two late? Hmm

I want to take a break, but I can’t because then I’ll feel guilty. I’ve made a lot of progress, but is it enough to justify another break? Am I worthy of a break? The game has to be made, obviously. And it will be. It’s like 95% done. But these last few bits really are 90% more

I want to finish it and move on. I want to play with other ideas, finish smaller projects like my room editor and pixelart editor. I have music in my head that isn’t for NYKRA, and so much more. So do I just cut corners and rush the rest of the game? Or do I be a disappointment?

Cut corners on the stuff that takes too long to make and nobody will notice... or that you hate to work on... also is your release date just made up or imposed by a publisher? You can change any date you made up yourself.

I’m so glad you in particular replied, because I figured you’d totally get what I’m saying with most of this. I’ve been cutting corners for sure, it’s just hard to balance it out! I don’t have a publisher, so me fixating one the release date is just in my head really...

I'd say going easy on yourself is one of the most important things... try to think about how if you were working for someone else what it would be like, and try to make your home work life always better than that.

That's a good idea. Thanks, I'll see if I can improve things around me. Turning a hobby into a job is always so hard
