When I finish the Witcher 3 dlc I am afraid I might actually slip into some kind of depression because I don’t want to leave this world.
Sorry @DaveMilbo this might be better than Bloodborne, I feel like a betrayer.
I don’t even care that I hated the combat anymore. THE WORLD..

I watched the show first which I think takes place around the start of the books, the games are set after all the books I think. Doesn’t feel like I’m missing all that much, the show sets up the key characters and the game does an exceptional job connecting dots for newcomers.

Yeah... The show takes stories from the first 2 books (both collections of short stories) ... The games are set long after all of the books... After watching the show I really want to play the game again.... But do I have a spare 200 hours?

The witcher is the only franchise I've ever played where I could not stomach doing that. The first game is just woeful.

Tom, you can definitely just start at 3 if you can beat the OCD. It's satisfyingly self contained. 2 is wonderful but dated. 1 is a slog.

Games: Skip one no matter what, two is good, but unnecessary. Books/Show: Watch the show, then skip straight to Blood of Elves. (The original first book before he wrote the short story compilations.) It picks up right where the shows leaves off.

i skipped 1 & 2 and i don't think it was a big deal. they do a pretty good job of filling you in on what happened.
