So far it seems just like HZD and Tomb Raider and lots of other games. But I like exploring exotic ruins. Could really care less about assassinating people; killing's not a hook, it's the same dumb motivator for every game since Space War. So maybe I will just explore.

Here is the only pic I took of that exhibit, at the Reagan library of all places. This statue is giant. They found it underwater.pic.twitter.com/45nScxRxqb

in that case you won't find Origins and Odyssey that much better. I share the sentiment. tried them and its all fun and new for about 6-7 hours. then it just the same old boring checklist content. I find Ubisoft games are the kind that I play when there is nothing better to do.

As an avid fan of AC, I will say one of the biggest things I hate about Origins and Odyssey is that stealth isn't a priority. My favorite way to play the older games, AC 1 - Unity, was to treat it like a stealth game rather than an action game. It made greater use of the parkour.
-
Granted, I find it difficult to call it a stealth series when a crouch button wasn't invented until Unity. You either had to cheese stealth or use context sensitive cover.

Origins and Odyssey should both have a museum / explore mode available.

You can always do the Discovery Tour mode. It lets you visit the entire map free roam. No missions. No combat. Plus, you walk up to nodes and listen to recorded audio/read about a certain subject like you would in a guided tour in a museum. Only in Origins and Odyssey.
-
It also lets you play as characters you otherwise wouldn’t in the campaign.
