One thing I like about Days Gone is how it reminds me of the semi-open worlds of Silent Hill Downpour and Evil Within 2 and makes it completely open and persistent.

I wonder if the folks who really dislike it are coming from the perspective of "they took the robots out of HZD" or "they took the Druckmann out of Last of Us".

For me I had this same kind of reaction to Spider Man - it just felt like Arkham City with less good stealth, rather than feeling like Spider Man Plus Amazing Open World. So I enjoy Days Gone a lot more than Spider Man because I think of what's added rather than what's missing.
