I wonder if the folks who really dislike it are coming from the perspective of "they took the robots out of HZD" or "they took the Druckmann out of Last of Us".

For me I had this same kind of reaction to Spider Man - it just felt like Arkham City with less good stealth, rather than feeling like Spider Man Plus Amazing Open World. So I enjoy Days Gone a lot more than Spider Man because I think of what's added rather than what's missing.

Do I want to play this game if going into caves in Skyrim scares me

So far there was a part where you are in a tunnel filled with broken down cars, though it is open at both ends. But I might be the wrong guy to ask because not much actually scares me, more like stresses me out (the Alien nest in Alien: Isolation did this to me in spades)

Dude I am enjoying Days Gone so much more than I thought I would. It has really drawn me in in ways that RDR2 and stuff didn't -- It's just so immersive and the world building is incredible. So much detail.

Just started FF15 a week ago and it's really annoying. Might have to shelf it and start up Days Gone! I've only heard good things about it so far.
