That... is incredibly creepy and so cool.
In early builds of AV, Trace is in a train wreck rather than a lab explosion. So the soundtrack has some train-like sound effects in it that ended up orphaned from their original purpose. It was supposed to be like he was still hearing the last sounds from his moment of death.

Oddly I was the opposite. Bought because it was a highly acclaimed metroidvania, was very surprised by the music.
