I would say the Metroids from AM2R but idk how exactly that would count as a platformer or how good they are on the technical level.
Can anyone think of 2d platformers that have good or at least better than average AI? Mark of the Ninja and Shadow Complex come to mind for me, trying to come up with others.

Well if you compare games like Mario where the enemies just repeat a pattern over and over versus games like Horizon Zero Dawn where enemies appear to have goals and decision making abilities ... somewhere between the two
