Okay it looks like checking "Enable the Visual Studio hosting process" in the project's Debug settings gets it working again. No idea why this isn't needed for x86 but suppose I don't really care as long as it works.

Any ideas on why console output (e.g. System.Console.Writeline) would stop working when you switch your project over to anycpu/64 bit?

Are you running Visual Studio in 64 bit mode or 32?
