BTW, because the Switch is doing so well, I think it spares the Wii U from becoming a top 10 biggest mistakes in gaming history contender. Since I've done this list, there's really nothing that is worse than the uDraw (the current #10), list stays same.https://indiegamerchick.com/2014/06/07/the-10-biggest-oopsies-in-gaming-history-part-1/ …

So you're going to spare it because it was secretly a Phoenix that resurrected as a Switch? I don't buy it. On its own, it was a disaster.

No, here's why: ultimately, what was the consequence of it? Hell, with them re-releasing Wii U games on Switch, if anything they're BENEFITING from the Wii U's disaster. Mario U on Switch stands to out-profit its Wii U launch title counterpart. And trust me, more are coming.

I'm torn. On the one hand, the Switch is a nice piece of hardware and it's selling as well as any platform they've had in the past. On the other hand, it's just 1 platform and a far cry from the mid-2000s where they had 2 platforms that were both selling like crazy (Wii+DS).

Well now their top console is, itself, also a handheld. It's almost like it realizes what the Wii U's real potential could have been. When everyone saw the Wii U for the first time, who thought it would be semi-portable too? Switch truly is. They don't need a portable line now.

The Switch, in its current form, leaves behind a huge chunk of the DS/3DS audience. For a lot of people, being able to stick the system in your pocket and carry it with you as you went out was key to the appeal. The Switch design makes the system a non-starter for that crowd.

Get a big poncho style coat with a pouch style pocket. It's what I use.

It tends to fit in most of my pants pockets but is still a bit awkward

I stuck with the smaller size 3DS because an XL won't fit in most of my pockets. The Switch doesn't even stand a chance of fitting.
