google deep dream was an interesting case study for what will happen if we ever have an AI powerful enough to "be creative". if it made anything good at all, then you'd end up with millions of similar images and everyone would be bored of it within 2 weeks
I suspect if we made an AI smart enough to create actual art, instead of just making the art, it would try to build another AI to do that for it
