AUDIO people: Is there a sound editor (in the vein of Soundforge, audacity, wavelab) that will load VST instruments? This way I don't have to load up a whole DAW just to play the 1 note I need to make a sound effect.

Yeah...I'm thinking for workflow that I might be better off just loading the DAW and using its not-so-great waveform editing features than using the editor and having to loading 2 other apps
Like for the sake of being able to go back and edit what I did, I'd wish the audio editor had the VST instrument saved along with the project file, so like say it's a jump sound, I could go back and edit the VST parameters to make different jumping sounds for different characters

yeah for doing that i think it will be just easier to have a DAW with multiple instances of the vst loaded in them
