Developers: Can you recommend any fonts that are aliased (not anti-) and look good at small sizes? Also looking for CJK fonts with the same properties (if they exist). The typical font websites out there make it very difficult to find useful fonts with these attributes.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. We did a second pass on the typefaces the moment Cyrillic came in, and another once we tried adding Asian languages. Working closely with a Chinese localizer now to get recommendations. I'll let you know once we have a typeface that works :)
Yeah, I did that, too...basically wound up with 2 handmade fonts and 1 true type font for cjk, only that font had issues with western characters whenever they appeared in the midst of a Japanese phrase
