Also the music in this scene was unlike any other sad scene in the show, which probably was the point because for the first time the largest conflict isn't about getting through to someone, it's just about mental healthpic.twitter.com/R6Tetmyo98

some of the quoted replies to this are hilarious. imagine saying a show being blunt about PTSD is trying too hard to be deep or edgy when it's really just...trying to help children with a plot point fans have been suspecting since the beginning? lmao

If Steven Universe Future’s latest episodes have resonated with you, please find a way to read this book. It’s one of the most thorough and helpful sources of information on healing childhood trauma:https://www.amazon.com/Complex-PTSD-Surviving-RECOVERING-CHILDHOOD/dp/1492871842/ …

Having a kids show discuss mental illness in such an educated and mature way is so refreshing. This could potentially help thousands of kids open up to parents or anyone else they trust about any trauma they have experienced in the past or even now. Good job, Crewniverse.

Basically, Connie's mom talks about PTSD to Steven. Please show this video to EVERY American veteran experiencing PTSD right now.

This is the kind of scene that puts the entire show up to this point in a whole new context and will make rewatches of the show truly sting more, and I mean that in the best way. This is freaking Bojack Horseman territory.
