Shoulders joined, and time to quit for the night. The bottom border I’ll do in the round by hand, so who knows when I’ll finish it. Lol. I’ll join the side seams and underarms tomorrow.pic.twitter.com/lkY1gxjqaA

And now here’s the front of the shirt-thing. Time to join some shoulders...pic.twitter.com/8irC40NmmL

My wrist has been a bit ouchie, so I set my machine up and busted out half a t-shaped shirt/thing. That’s the back, and now for a slightly different-looking chunk for the front. Then time for a secret accessory that’s 900% easier on the machine than by hand.pic.twitter.com/nhiufCQHYt

Today’s biology lab: bacterial transformation! It makes me happy, so I’m wearing my happy neurotransmitters, and it involves GFP so my earrings (moon and earth!) glow in the dark. Both are a stretch to relevance, but hey. I do my best. Lol. Also, my advent sweater!pic.twitter.com/azt4XJSKDe

And is *this* an issue of Academic Integrity? I mean, it's extremely unlikely you put a disclaimer at the bottom "this test/quiz was generated using the Test Bank from Wiley And Sons (or whoever)". It's not even yours! Or your school's!

Oh, and another thing to consider: if you make your tests based on Text Book "test banks" that come from publishers...is that test even yours? If a student posts that test online, or even a study guide made from those, do YOU as the prof have the right to be angry?

So these are the things I think about on a Monday. Yes, somewhat prompted by recent events in a broad sense, but definitely something I think more about as time goes on. In academia, what do I actually...OWN? Are my notes mine? My quizzes mine? My tests mine?

I'm trying to wrap my head around this "internet age" thing. Where EVERYTHING is online. I'm trying to understand what I should be outraged about (lol) and what I need to just learn to let go. But also...it seems like Academic Integrity is a grey area here. Possibly?

To go along with that, do you re-use tests in their entirety, and believe they are not "compromised" in the time of the internet? Is this something you actually think about (genuinely curious)? If you want to reuse a test (component or entirety), do you hand it back?

And now what about quizzes and tests that you hand back? What if a student uploads THOSE to one of these sites? I mean, you handed it back to them. It's now in their possession to do with as they please...or not? Is it a violation of you school's Academic Integrity policy?

In this case, let's ignore what another student does with that lab report. Downloading that lab report, changing the name, and submitting as their own work clearly falls into the "Academic Dishonesty and Plagiarism" bucket. But what about the UPLOADER?

If this is OK with you, or if you figure you have little control over it anyway so you have other things to worry about, what about student work? Things like lab reports, whether graded or ungraded. Are those "fair game"? Do students have a right to upload those to these sites?

I'm asking about THEIR OWN notes. The notes they take, while you talk for 1, 2, 3 (more?) hours at a time, in a Word document then upload THOSE notes. Is that a problem for you? Also: do you think this is happening in your class(es)?

I'm not asking about a student downloading your powerpoint slides, then uploading them to one of these websites. That clearly is taking all of your work, then passing it off as their own AND they get money for it. That's squarely in the "not cool" bin.

With the rise of "pay to play" sites that students can upload notes & other students can pay to download them, I'm curious at what your (general "your") idea is on academic ownership. Do you "own" the notes that a student takes in your class? If they upload them is this an issue?

Dear
#AcademicTwitter: I have a question. OK, maybe a few questions. It's about Academic Integrity and your perception of it in a specific context that is becoming more and more prominent in academia today. A thread:Prikaži ovu nitHvala. Every time I see J. Lo perform I have remind myself she’s friggin 50 years old. If I could look that good at 36 it sure would be something. If I looked that good at 25 it would have been an accomplishment. That woman is a machine. A mind-blowingly talented machine.
