its a cute life simulator that has a lot of internal goals, paying off your debt, growing the city (adding fountains and bridges the villagers want) collecting all fruits/bugs/fish and bit more. its a really simple cartoony life simulator that has a lot of charm

There's a lot of stuff one can do in Animal Crossing. You can pay off mortgages to upgrade your house, catch bugs and fish, donate to a museum, gain perfect town status, decorate your house for good looks, etc. Basically you live life the way you want to in the game.
