You could call practicing basketball for pickup games with friends a waste of time too. Not like most of us would go pro you know? But to others it’s an escape from issues going on in their lives temporarily, something to destress with, or a hobby that you can be around friends..

Too much of anything is a bad thing. Whether it’s basketball or video games or dancing. But our aspect on this is to change the stigma behind video games and also tie in religion into it for young Muslims to come together.

Gaming wasn’t a career or seen as something that you could progress through life with. It was a luxury that became negative because others saw no benefit at the time. Mental health and awareness wasn’t a big topic years ago. With social media, online gaming, forums, etc..

But why wait one generation when I can address and find a resolution to it now? Being a professional gamer I was embarrassed to share it for the longest time, but it helped me even if temporarily when dealing with depression/anxiety. Bet there are more stories just like mine.
