I'd love for to explain his claim that Trump "did better with minorities than any GOP candidate in 60 years" & that Trump made "unprecedented inroads with black and Hispanic voters." GW Bush in 2004 did better with Hispanics & Asians than Trump in '16 or '20.

Seems like this chart can't be right. Bush did win 44% of the Latino vote in 2004 right?

Yes, I mixed two lists up. Apologies. I will send accurate numbers out tomorrow.

Correct numbers going back to 1976 are:
1976: 17%
1980: 18%
1984: 15%
1988: 15%
1992: 17% (Perot ran third party)
1996: 17% (Perot ran third party)
2000: 22%
2004: 28%
2008: 18%
2012: 18%
2016: 21%
2020: 26%
Disaggregating the non-white vote: George HW Bush won Asians in 1992 (55%) and Dole won them in 1996 (48%). Trump got 31% in 2020. George W Bush got 44% of the Hispanic vote in 2004; McCain got 35% in 2008. Trump got 31% in 2020.

Bottom line: while Trump did better in 2020 than in 2016 with minorities (which is good), other GOP nominees have done better in the last 60 years, especially with Latinos and Asians.
