What is the difference between indicated and true airspeed?

1/ The easiest way to answer your question. ‘Indicated Airspeed’ is what’s indicated right on the gauge. ‘True Airspeed’ is airspeed correct for altitude and temperature. As altitude increases, indicated airspeed decreases and true airspeed increases.

Correction: ‘Corrected for altitude and temperature’
