Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees this!!! More great advice. It can be so hard to not feel discouraged by low viewership or trolls, but you gotta just keep going because that is life! The bad shit makes the good shit feel so much better :P

I like to define character by how many times a person is willing to pick themselves up rather than by how long they've been up without falling. Success only happens because failure exists.

One of the most valuable lessons I picked up streaming these last six years? Don't be discouraged because of your viewership. There's so many streamers that count numbers, but that's not the reason you should be streaming for on the daily.

You stream because you love doing it. You love interacting with viewers, spending time with other gamers in your favorite worlds, and building a community around what you feel is best about the industry/environment of video games.

If you're just getting started though, a more business-oriented tip I wish I picked up on earlier would be building a brand. Have a theme in mind, care about that theme, and it will attract viewers who share the same enthusiasm.

One thing too, and
@TwitchNecro touched on this a bit, is accept you'll have good and bad days. The viewers who truly care about your streams will be there regardless of how many days you stream or if you have to take a day off your mental sanity.1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -

I'm ridiculously lucky to know fellow streamers like
@TwitchNecro, @Prophet_On_Fire, @GrizzleBF,@Deity7,@Kathbris,@c4credit and so many others who are always supporting me during tough weeks. Don't be afraid to make friends, but don't do it because you want viewers.4 replies 0 retweets 6 likes -

And I'd also say, don't undervalue yourself as a streamer. I see a lot of streamers these days afraid to apply for influencer programs, early access streams from developers, etc. Streamers and content creators are very valuable in today's industry. Don't forget that.

Most importantly? Don't burn bridges or ruin your connections. It's okay to be an entertainer and add some flair to your content, but going off at a specific developer, individual, or company is never okay. They're people to. Don't forget that.

Also (I swear, I'll stop soon), it's your job as a streamer to make people want to watch your content. Nobody is stealing your viewers, your viewers aren't a commodity, and you should NEVER treat them as such.
