This is 100% why I appreciate people like LTT and GamersNexus for their tech reviews. It's always an honest opinion with both the good and bad

Some people get a little more wiggle room than others. Point being: yes, be sick of it. Theres a reason my streamteam command has "*recovering* games journalist". But the system itself doesnt really lean towards good content in general. Leans towards fast content.

all of this
Poor guy probably said, "Why don't we cover Hyperscape?"
Editor kicked down, claiming it wouldn't get clicks (since Open Beta was a bigger deal), and gave them an afternoon to play, and a few days to write a review before pushing them onto something else.2 replies 0 retweets 1 like -

But that still doesn't excuse the fact that whole chunks of the game were missing from the review IMO.

Oh, definitely. Some people are still just bad at their jobs. Always gonna happen there. Just wanted to note that it's really easy to brush that off on the reviewer all the time when a lot of the issue is systemic.

In many cases, you'll see a review you don't agree with (this is the reason I no longer read game reviews & haven't for quite some time) and get upset across social. But guess what? More clicks. It all feeds into the machine. Haha.

It's a fun game I could go on for days about. There's so much to it that boy howdy, I just can't even fathom anymore. So happy I escaped it.

I think it's a pretty sad state of affairs that people have to write objectively wrong reviews and miss out entire bits to stay relevant. Not even about personal opinion at that point lol

For sure! And most reviews are often "pushed away" from being a personal opinion, because then audience infers advertisement bias. It's not: "I disagree with your assessment on this game." It's: "You are wrong and I hate you, and I hate your publication. Quit your job."
