My mom said she's tired of reading, even though so loves books. She's bored and stuck at home. I suggested she pick up gaming, and she seemed really interested! She asked for suggestions on games to start with. H E L P ! Suggestions for good story-driven games? Or starter games?pic.twitter.com/VHiibWHyRn

Murder by Numbers! It's a mix of a crime solving visual novel (like Ace Attorney) and picross, which is like a crossword mixed with sudoku. It's $15, and is really well written.

I'm a big fan of Firewatch (a nice, few hour adventure), What Remains of Edith Finch, Dear Esther, Gone Home (emotional though - be warned), Monument Valley (on Smart Phones!), and Journey (my personal favorite!) I heard Florence is great too, but haven't tried it myself.

Return of the Obra Dinn has you discover what happened to a ship’s crew by playing out the moments they died, and solving the mystery around it. Great art style Thronebreaker is a cool Witcher universe game - really great writing/voicework, and combat is all Gwent (card-based)
