Really though, this is such an awesome topic I would love to see explored more. There's so many elements that have pulled me away from movies due to a lack of weirdness, creativeness, and the idea to be 'accessible/presentable' to everyone of every age.

I think the more unique and authentic you make an experience, whether it be gaming, film, television, or written, the more touching and important it becomes. It's about sharing stories people can connect with, not stories everyone feels 'safe' spending their time on.
