And rumours have it that they're also going to launch a less powerful console like they did with the One. Anaconda/Lockhart

Makes sense tbh -- offering options to different consumer groups. Keeping things tiered is smart. Just like how every PC build is different to the user.

Now the big question is - what will the PS5 bring to the table? Xbox is going strong with backwards compatibility to all prior consoles and potentially cross-play with PC.

I honestly think Sony is going to continue playing the exclusives route. They have some of the best games and the best studios under their cloak. It's going to be interesting how they play against cross platform using that mentality though.

Well, if cross-play between Scarlett and PC will become a thing I think that would be a huge win for Xbox already.

Another thing I think is interesting is when console teams talk about hardware. They drop big numbers (like today's 120 frames per second), but I don't truly believe they know how to contextualize that for consumers.

For the sake of perspective. I run a multi-thousand dollar rig I've been over 3 years with a GTX 1080 and overclocked processor at 4.6 GHz. I can't get 120 frames in most major titles running at 1440p/4K, so I just can't follow along with the big number speak in console boxes.

Yeah. I think at this point only time will tell. But looking back at Xbox One X - they managed actual 4k60 so I'm guessing you'll be able to pick between higher framerates or resolution

Yeah, agreed! And hey, choices are the best.
I feel like I'm a PC guy now, but that doesn't mean I don't want the best for my box fam! Haha.
