5️⃣ Generative AI, like ChatGPT, has to be regulated, and accountability should rest on the shoulders of those who deploy the technology. Protecting health, safety and infringement on rights should come first, and all risks should be mitigated.

4️⃣ Accountability. AI developers should be accountable for all the risks that flow from risky uses. No self-definitions, and self-policing – it is vital the AI Act clearly defines what high-risk use is, and makes developers accountable.

3️⃣ Human rights first and foremost – to protect people’s fundamental rights, democracy and the rule of law. All high-risk AI should go through thorough and public human rights impact assessments.

2️⃣ Stop harms. The AI Act should ban all AI uses that have already proven harmful. This includes oppressive surveillance, profiling systems and automated risk assessments.
