Do you reckon we could do a community share issue to buy channel 4 off of ourselves?

My book, Deep Wheel Orcadia, is now available as an audiobook! You can get it at all major audiobook outlets, including Audible, Google Play and Kobo. I narrated it in both languages, Orcadian and English.

Look. I realise the other acts here have a lot to say about 1998. But Ice Hockey Hair is a stone cold banger and it's getting done dirty. Listen to the whole thing and THEN tell me you're an unbeliever.

And to my trans siblings? I love you, I'm rooting for you, I'm here if I can help.

I'm so tired. I'm grappling with chronic illness slowly disabling me. There are good days and good people though. And I am very very lucky to have made it this far.

And as always, my experience is limited, I'm middle class and white, listen to those facing further marginalisation first. I speak broadly to feel solidarity. But I also listen for the same. Or try to.

And maybe that's where visibility could help. The more people know us, the more they might support. It shouldn't be on us to fix this stuff. It probably is. But it shouldn't be. But allies need to actively work to make that more safe. To take the weight off us that they can.

I think it is an illusion. The people who know us are so much more likely to understand, recognise and support us than they were a decade ago. But there are active and successful campaigns to turn the people who don't know us against us.

Trans day of visibility probably isn't about making us visible. That is not what we need help with. We need to make it implicitly, explicitly and completely safe for trans people to be visible. These days, it feels like we're going in the opposite direction.

And so. I keep going. Good days and bad. My new neighbours completely welcoming, gendering me correctly without prompting. Giggles on the bus. Pointed stares. Cycles of abuse. Wonderful work I am always too tired for.

I say cult mostly because I can see so clearly how it plays upon real and horrible trauma. Whispered blame and simple stories. Tactics of love bombing and reinforcement. The abused given someone to blame and abuse. It's.... horrifically understandable. And so harmful.

But both of the biggest political leaders equivocate on behalf of a few famous powerful people. Columnists and celebrities who appear to be in hock to an odd but growing cult. That means every time I am visible, I feel eyes up and down me and don't know if they already hate me

I stayed invisible on the trans day of visibility again. It didn't feel like a good day to be trans in the UK. Which is odd, as all the people around me and that I know are lovely and accepting. Most treat me how I am without any question.

For the government to admit conversion therapy is cruel and harmful but NOT protect trans people from it has left me totally broken. I don’t really know what to do anymore.
