I am really excited to share our recent work on unpicking the mechanisms that are important for formation. This is the first paper form my lab and I just want to highlight those that helped give this some legs!

Great paper from McEwan group on finding novel role of Atg2! The authors found that Atg2 interacts with GABARAP via specific motif and the interaction is close to WIPI4 site. Huge implications for initiation of autophagic processes

However, new challenges await as I am now back where it all started for me many years ago . I am now working with as an Associate scientist (permannet role!!). I will now be looking to see how we can utilise to

It was a privilege to support these young scientists & I am delighted they now have this paper for their endevours. Sadly, this brings a closure to my own time at in where I had a great time & met some fab collegues.

This was great effort by Masters students , Luuk and Nicola as well as undergraduates Lisa and Beth who worked elements of it as part of their 4th year projects. Couldn't have done it without the support of and Tenovus Scotland. all

Good article in the guardian today regarding the language used in describing treatment of cancers. In general, the media need to be more responsible in their reporting & press releases by Uni's need to not treat every breakthrough as a potential 'cure'.
