#ActuallyAutistic #AskingAutistics - have you EVER been told by a non-autistic person how to refer to yourself in regards to autism?
EX: Well meaning non-autistic people are often "informing" me that "saying autistic person is offensive" & I SHOULD say "with autism instead".

WTAF. I love how ppl that "specialize" in us feel like they should have any say at all in how we refer to ourselves or our neurotype. They're so fucking creepy. It's like, "I went to school and learned all about you people and just so you know the preferred terminology is..."

This is ridiculous! You should reply back to that person and say this comment is from an autistic occupational therapist!
-
It actually turned into me figuring out who the person actually was, even after they deleted their IG account...CRAZY story!!!
