We will not forget your role in betraying the constitution. Unless we forget because it’s hard to remember your name after Trump ordered you to change your name and you did. So we will not forget unless that happens in which case there’s a chance we may forget.

The reason this tweet is so disturbing is that rigging elections is how autocrats stay in power for decades; and why the House argued that Trump's willingness to rig/cheat had to lead to removal. This tweet a huge middle finger to America and everything which has made us great.

It is hard to do the right thing - and even to keep sight of what the right thing is — when your system, group, and career incentives push you towards doing the wrong thing. Mitt Romney - and Justin Amash - deserve a lot of respect for doing the right thing when it was hard.

My new post: House Republicans feel public opinion shifting on climate change, so they’re putting forward something they’re calling comprehensive conservative climate policy. It is none of those things.

From the editorial board: As President Donald Trump and his enablers run their victory laps, the sound you hear is that of the Constitution being trampled.

The impeachment process in the House and the Senate has come to a totally predictable conclusion. My great fear is that the wrong lessons will be drawn from this and will have dire consequences for the future, writes Erwin Chemerinsky (via )

Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio): "In private, many of my colleagues agree that the president is reckless and unfit. They admit his lies. And they acknowledge what he did was wrong. ... And they know that more damning evidence is likely to come out."

The punchline of this “joke” about staying in office indefinitely is that he literally just abused his power and tried to extort a foreign regime in order to manipulate the 2020 election so he could stay in office.

With the vote to acquit now final, I just published this.👇 Remember this: A BIPARTISAN MAJORITY found that the factual allegations for Trump’s impeachment were proven.

"Corrupting an election to keep oneself in office is perhaps the most abusive and destructive violation of one's oath of office that I can imagine." I agree, . Voting to convict this president is an act of patriotism. Thank you for yours.

My greater concern is if Republicans acquit President Trump by undercutting the very rule of law. That will truly be remembered as a sad and dangerous moment in the history of our country.

The evidence of Trump’s guilt is so overwhelming that the Republican Party, for the first time in the history of presidential impeachment, obstructed testimony from witnesses—even willing witnesses.

Thank you for doing the right thing, Senator, and for not trying to split the baby by acquiting on the obstruction of Congress article—whose future implications are arguably even more grave if Donald's misconduct is permitted to stand.
