It is time the Prime Minister apologised to the women and girls of South Adelaide Football Club - who, because they aren't located in a marginal electorate, are still without female change rooms they desperately need

I just asked the PM whether he regrets launching a political ad on a catastrophic day at the height of the bushfire crisis, using Defence imagery, a jingle and a link to a Liberal Party donation button. Spoiler alert: he doesn’t.

AUSTRALIAN CIVILIAN VESSELS & CREWS VITAL IN BUSHFIRE CRISIS The bush fire emergency has brought out the best in our community including the Australian maritime industry. Australian civilian vessels & crews were vital for rescue & support to communities endangered by fires.

Scott Morrison has dismissed questions about his Government's response to the bushfires. Labor made a number of constructive suggestions only for him to dismiss them. We are now at the point where Scott Morrison dismisses his own words being quoted back to him.

The Government doesn't want anyone to shine a light on their sports rorts – so they shut down debate. But that doesn't change the truth. This scandal characterises everything that's wrong with this Government – arrogant and obsessed with only looking out for themselves.

Now the Government is using their numbers to gag me. They hate being held to account.

This is not fire as usual. As we turn to face the harsh new reality that confronts Australia, we remember those we have lost. We honour those left behind. We thank those who have been fighting to keep us safe.

Parliament today was meant to be dedicated to the victims of the bushfire crisis and the emergency workers who have been fighting so bravely to keep us safe. Instead some MPs are only focused on talking about themselves. It’s the ultimate act of self-indulgence.

The PM might think it’s okay to just dismiss an independent investigation into the rorting of taxpayer money, but I don’t. Labor will vote to establish a full and proper Senate inquiry to get to the bottom of the sports rorts scandal.

Today we say goodbye to John Cain. He was a man of vision and great integrity who led a reforming and progressive Labor government in Victoria. He was an inspiring leader and it was my great privilege to know him and to work with him. We will miss him.

So let me get this straight. The Coalition has been stacking the Fair Work Commission with its mates for the past six years, and their appointees are now in the majority. But certain employers reckon it’s somehow biased towards Labor? 🧐

Let’s be clear: Bridget McKenzie didn’t resign because she rorted taxpayer money. She resigned because she was caught. This scandal goes all the way to the top. We need a full, thorough investigation to get to the bottom of it.
