Hmm not too impressed with the Riot vfx contest results, my guess is that it's so close to gdc that the top tier people didn't have the time to go all out. I think they were also mostly student work. I know there are tons of people who could have done better than my Blizzard VFX contest submission. (Still waiting to hear about those)
