Anyone know why capsule hotels (and homes) aren't more common in SF? Is it a regulatory thing?

I know multiple friends that literally lived in closets. My first apt in SF was a 1-br with 3 other guys

Ooooooh!! Would love to hear about all your experiences, especially if you think it could scale beyond your specific circumstance

Would have loved a capsule hotel. Have been actively looking for shared dorm style housing as well for students (longer term). No idea re:regulatory but please do it. I love the idea

My experience: everything I own in one suitcase, here’s my sleeping situation. Would shower at YMCA and work at coworking space. $300/mo personal burn. If you could combine the two you’d fill it 100% and make SF possible again. http://www.slate.com/blogs/quora/2013/08/01/financing_a_startup_i_lived_in_my_car_to_save_money.html …pic.twitter.com/hq3UWxMtiM

Where did you safely park at night?

I started out just randomly parking on Palo Alto streets. You don’t realize this but no one looks in windows of cars they walk by. Later would park in the parking lot of the Mormon church on Ensign way. Was a secluded area next to camping trailers so I knew they didn’t tow.
