I know multiple friends that literally lived in closets. My first apt in SF was a 1-br with 3 other guys

Would have loved a capsule hotel. Have been actively looking for shared dorm style housing as well for students (longer term). No idea re:regulatory but please do it. I love the idea

My experience: everything I own in one suitcase, here’s my sleeping situation. Would shower at YMCA and work at coworking space. $300/mo personal burn. If you could combine the two you’d fill it 100% and make SF possible again. http://www.slate.com/blogs/quora/2013/08/01/financing_a_startup_i_lived_in_my_car_to_save_money.html …pic.twitter.com/hq3UWxMtiM

Hardest part was I had no fridge and nonperishable food is loaded with carbs and sodium. Was hungry often.

Yeah, knew I needed to be in the valley, didn’t have much cash, read too much Thoreau :)

I was (and am) fascinated by the trade off of paying n% of salary for housing, which is essentially a place to sleep. If you’re cognizant of the trade off of a finite amount of time for labor to pay for housing it feels even more expensive than as a line item on a budget.
